Digital Cemetery (2013)
We believe that in the near future a digital cemetery will appear which will place itself next to existing graveyards. Data collected in the internet will be part of our eternal legacy. Together we wanted to visualise this very process. Our sanctuary is supposed to give digital heritage a dedicated space, to become an Heterotopia by itself. We imagined a space where close members gather and explore the data as we are doing now with left over belongings. Imagine a digital attic full of pictures, recordings, written conversations and videos. Since the process of going through our past was connected to specific items, we connected common gestures to the online space. Just like opening a letter or flipping through a book one can explore the vastly more extensive library of our future past lifes.
Project in collaboration with Floriane Misslin, Seeyoon Kwon and Leo Schlumberger.
